As a Cytotechnologist or Cyto-Pathologist, you know that Cervical Cytology Screening is, despite HPV-testing, essential in the early detection of the pre-cancerous and cancerous lesions: with cytology you look for abnormal changes in the cells and nuclei morphology while the HPV test detects the presence of the HPV virus. This is also the reason why after an HPV positive test, you finally need cytology to know if lesions are really existing on the cervix. Approximately 1 out of 5 cervical cancer lesions and about 1 out of 12 High-Grade lesions (HSIL) are negative with HPV-testing and are therefore missed with HPV primary screening (Quest study July 2020).
Defeating Cervical Cancer is possible with early detection of the (pre)cancerous lesions.
Striving for the highest possible sensitivity in Cervical Cancer Screening with Cytology is therefore essential for successful treatments. (Link to Datexim clinical study)
From LBC-glass slide images, the proprietary A.i. of CytoProcessor®, Datexim’s Digital Cytology Solution for Cervical Cancer Screening, calculates about 250 cytological intra- and intercellular visual features on each detected cell and its nucleus.
CytoProcessor® then classifies and sorts these cells by diagnostic relevance to fill in a gallery of thumbnails. It also creates an overview of the different cell categories you can find in your virtual slide.
Having the most relevant abnormal cells in one overview is an optimal way for making a reliable and precise diagnosis. It makes it very easy to compare all these most relevant sorted cells with each other.
With an equivalent 40x magnification used to create the gallery thumbnails, you will see clearly the sharp nuclear details of each nucleus into that gallery. If you select one of the cells, it will be shown with its context in the Digital Microscopic Field (viewer part of the solution).
The default magnifications for the galleries and for the Digital Microscopic Field can be adjusted to your own preferences: 10x, 20x, 30x, 40x.
CytoProcessor’s® proprietary sharpening tool, highlights the nuclear details and that’s why CytoProcessor is a huge help in screening for Cervical Cancer lesions at an early stage.

CytoProcessor® can be used with Hologic ThinPrep and #ILSA Diagnostics preparation, iDC20 and CellEXpert.
CytoProcessor® is also validated on #Hamamatsu S360, #3DHistech P250 and P1000 scanners.
