CytoProcessor® - Annette's Case n°13

JULY 5 2024

CytoLearning is Datexim's Educational Training Program to train and certify medical staff to
use CytoProcessor®
as a primary diagnosis tool, using AI assistance and being remote.

CytoLearning is a very user-friendly Quality Management Tool, developed by the Datexim team to make you quickly understandable and comfortable how to work with CytoProcessor® in your daily routine in the screening for Cervical Cancer.

CytoLearning is to practice your in-house LBC method for Digital Cytology, this could be ThinPrep®, ILSA or BD Surepath (RUO).

This e-Learning is to gain experience with the screening of virtual images remotely at the
moments it fits the best for the new CytoProcessor® user.

Let’s look at this CytoLearning case:
LBC: ThinPrep
Age: Between 59 and 63 year-old
Hormonal status: Postmenopausal

Learning from the discrepancies with CytoLearning is the best way to experience that
CytoProcessor® shows the abnormal cells sorted by prevalence in the abnormal gallery.
Essential is to use the cytological criteria to make an accurate diagnosis.
Using the sharpness button, in case of darker stained cells or clustered cells, to see the
nuclear details much better, aids the CytoLearning user to recognize the abnormal cells in
case of atrophic cases with a lot of degeneration, débris and fibrin on the background.

Observation:
Immature or atrophic squamous cells with high NCR, irregular, enlarged nuclei with a coarse
chromatin pattern who are hidden and overlapped by polymorphs neutrophils, fibrin and
degenerated cells.

These cytological criteria fit a HSIL in an atrophic sample. (confirmed with histology)
